When the sun goes down and the night falls, this is when we can see the shining stars and the bright moonlight.
To create a similar environment, inspired by the artist Yongliang, the windows of the exhibition hall are covered with semi-transparent fabric and mountain shaped mesh panels that would serve as sun breakers while mimicking the stars.
Walking through the exhibition, to support the feeling of “being the moon”, the visitors will “walk among the stars” on the hills. Just like the moon going down every morning and rising back every night, with the provided path of varying heights they will gaze on the recherished ones.
Just like the moon in the sky, following and watches our every move, every night for centuries this project aims to take the visitors to the darkness, adorned with shinning stars and observe the “forgotten lives” and “lost cities”.
With the star-like light systems in the dark, from the moment they enter, the visitors will feel like floating in the empty space. Each with the given sphere lanterns, they will lighten “the village” and discover the lives that’s been left behind while being looked upon.

The primary entrance, resembling a slumbering moon, graces the exterior of the building. As visitors follow the flowing lights within, courteous reception staff will guide them to don the “moonlight” and journey through a tunnel into the enchanting realm of art.
The exhibition space features an immersive interactive installation designed to connect viewers with the art. As spectators enter this dark environment, it feels as if they are stepping directly into the artist's creations, becoming an integral part of the art work. In this space, observers coexist with the artworks, embodying the essence of the moon itself.
Innovation is not exclusive to artists, anyone who recognises the vitality of old objects can recreate those overlooked souls in the workshop after visiting the exhibition. This is a place that welcomes everyone to bring any old items, create small creatures, and join the Great Migration. Bathed in a gentle but radiant light will illuminate everything under the moon.
